The Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and The Head of Babylon Appeal Court Muslim Mateb confirmed, on Wednesday , maximum sentences will be imposed on drug traffickers and dealers.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA ) that "Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, visited today The Head of Babylon Appeal Court, Muslim Mateb , to discuss the fight against the scourge of drugs and the imposition of maximum sentences against traffickers, promoters and return the drug addicts to society after rehabilitation and ridding them of these toxins through compulsory rehabilitation facility".
"During the meeting, it was emphasized to educate Interior Ministry employees on witnessed crime that does not need a judicial warrant and carry out the arrest of the perpetrator" the statement added
The head of Babylon Appeal Court, Muslim Mateb praised “the obviously great effort by the leadership of the province's police and the detection of crimes within a very short time".
