Al-Shammari inaugurates first Rehabilitation Facility in Babil

    Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari inaugurated on Wednesday, the first compulsory rehabilitation facility in Babil province.
     
    "The Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari arrived in the Babil province this morning, accompanied by the undersecretary of the ministry for police and intelligence affairs and several commanders and officers," according to a statement from the ministry obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). Al-Shammari then inaugurated the facility in the province, which is connected to the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, with the attendance of the director of the province health directorate and Babil police commander.
     
    "This rehabilitation facility is the first in the province and will work in cooperation with the health directorate of Babil Governorate to rehabilitate drug victims, treat them, and reintegrate them into society again," Al-Shammari emphasized in the statement.

    He made note of the fact that "several other governorates will see the inauguration of several compulsory facilities once they are complete in a way that permits the competent authorities to treat drug addicts and save them from these ill-effects."
