Basra Gas Company announces its new projects to invest in sour gas in the southern field

    Basra Gas Company announced on Tuesday, its new development projects, while indicating that the Basra Gas Liquefaction Plant targets 400 million standard cubic feet as the company’s capacity.
     
     
     “Shell, Mitsubishi, and the government-owned South Gas Company represent the shareholders in this company, while managing the work in the fields is managed by the Basra Gas Company very independently, and this is organized according to the shareholders’ agreement and the gas development agreement, which are two basic agreements for establishing the company,” The general manager of the company, Mirfa Kadhim Al-Asadi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    “There have been many projects over the past 10 years that have enabled the company to reach this rate of production, but during the recent period there have been many projects, most notably the production of the Basra Gas Liquefaction Plant, which targets 400 million standard cubic feet as the company’s capacity,” Al-Asadi added.
     
    "There are projects to install capacitors in the Zubair field, and projects to provide flexibility by installing pipelines and launching capacitors in the West Qurna 1 field, to increase gas investment, in addition to other projects to invest sour gas in the southern field,” He continued.
