CTS arrests a leader in ISIS gangs

The counter-terrorism service CTS announced, on Tuesday, the arrest of a leader in ISIS terrorist gangs in Tikrit.

CTS said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "With a heroic operation of the heroes of the Anti-Terrorism Service and after a tight ambush according to accurate intelligence information in the city of Tikrit, the agents of the service were able to arrest one of the leaders of the terrorist gangs of ISIS".
 
It added that" the terrorist was working in the Nineveh province previously, and now he works as a carrier of ISIS terrorist gangs between Iraq and one of the neighboring countries, and renewed his allegiance to the terrorist organization in 2023 ", pointing out that "the qualitative operations carried out by our heroes on high-level targets led to a near obstruction of the movement of the organization in areas where he might think of being exposed or trying to register a media presence”.
