The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed today, Friday, that the international and regional conditions are dangerous and threaten the region and the world due to the Zionist aggression against Gaza, Syria and Lebanon.

Al-Maliki said during the launch of the electoral campaign for the candidates of the State of Law coalition for the provincial council elections in a speech received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The decision to abolish the provincial councils previously left a vacuum in the system of administration of the provinces and the state, and also contributed to creating many problems from which we are still suffering.” He considered the stability of the governorates to lead to "the stability of the state when it is based on governorates that play their role in providing services to citizens.".

Al-Maliki explained that "there were those who did not realize the danger of the provinces remaining without councils," noting that "the facts have shown to those who want to reform and build that the constitutional entitlement must exist through holding elections.".

He pointed out that "the international and regional conditions are very dangerous and threaten the region and the world because of the Zionist aggression against Gaza, Syria and Lebanon," stressing that "the Palestinian resistance changed the equation and gave a new lesson to those observing the scene.".

He stated that "the war on Gaza revealed countries' claims to human rights and the protection of society and the international system," explaining that "the Hamas movement exposed the falsity of the international system and the Security Council because those behind the crimes of the occupation are permanent members of it, with the exception of Russia and China.".

Al-Maliki renewed his call to "the masses to participate actively in the elections, saying, I thank all our Iraqi people and are optimistic that their participation will be great in the upcoming elections. He also praised the Election Commission for playing its role in providing the requirements for conducting the electoral process," calling on all candidates and all political forces to participate in the elections and " Their competition must be honest and free from tension and stirring up strife.”.
