Iran: We thank the Iraqi Prime Minister for his courageous stances in his speech at Cairo Conference

    The Deputy Chairman of the Iranian National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ibrahim Azizi, thanked today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for his speech at the Cairo conference, while describing the speech as “courage.”
     
     
    The media office of the National Security Advisor said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, received in his office a delegation from the Iranian Shura Council headed by the Deputy Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ibrahim Azizi, and in the presence of the Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Abbas Al-Zamili, and the Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, Muhammad Kazem Al-Sadiq.”
      "Al-Araji welcomed the delegation of the Iranian Shura Council, and there was a review of the growing historical relations between the two countries and ways to develop it to further prospects that serve the interests of the two countries and the two friendly peoples."
    Al-Araji confirmed, according to the statement to the guest delegation, that “the security agreement between Iraq and Iran is in the interest of the two countries and serves the security and stability of the region,” noting that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani is seriously following up on the completion of this agreement, stressing Iraq’s full readiness for coordination and cooperation with neighboring Iran in this regard.”
    For his part, Azizi appreciated "Iraq's positions in receiving Iranian visitors, thanking the Iraqi government and people for their generosity, giving, good reception, and hospitality.” And then Azizi thanked “Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, for his courageous stances in his speech at the Cairo conference.”
    Regarding the current events in the Gaza Strip and the killing and collective punishment of civilians, Al-Araji stressed, “The responsibility requires all of us to strive to stop all military operations in Gaza. Children and women are not part of the battle, and they must be far war and the disasters that occur.”
