The first Karkh investigative court announced on Tuesday, the arrest of a gang promoting the Baath Party and the defunct regime.
Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council SJC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "After the monitoring by the competent security authorities that some people pasted slogans entitled (Assad Saddam army) on the walls and electricity poles in one of the cities of Baghdad/AL- Karkh, a specialized security team was formed under the supervision of AL- Karkh First Investigation court, the Directorate of intelligence and counterterrorism Baghdad /AL- Karkh and the federal police intelligence system to arrest those involved in this crime ".
The statement added that “a group of accused were arrested on 14 /9 /2023 their arrest is in accordance with the anti-terrorism law", pointing out that "the investigation of the rest of the fugitive defendants is still ongoing".
