    National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji confirmed today, Saturday, that the Iraqi government’s position is clear and frank regarding the events in Palestine.

    The media office of the National Security Advisor stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Al-Araji received in his office today, Saturday, the new German ambassador to Baghdad, Christiana Homann.”

    The statement added: "At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Araji welcomed the new German ambassador to Baghdad, wishing her success in her duties, stressing Iraq's readiness to cooperate with friendly countries in all fields, especially those that serve Iraq's mutual interests with the countries of the world."

    Al-Araji reviewed, "the course of historical relations between Iraq and Germany, especially cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging information," expressing "Iraq's aspiration to continue and strengthen these relations, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples."

    The statement continued: “During the meeting, there was also talk about the Palestinian issue and what the Palestinian brothers in Gaza are exposed to, stressing the Iraqi government’s clear and frank position on what is happening in Palestine through the government’s statement, the statement of Al-Sistani, and popular activities, all of which called for supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and their right to establish their state.” "Independent."

    Al-Araji stressed that "the collective punishment of civilians in Gaza is unacceptable, that the killing of children is unacceptable, and that cutting off water, electricity, and supplies is a violation of humanitarian principles," noting that "the process of abolishing Gaza and displacing its population is unacceptable."

    He pointed out that "any invasion of Gaza will lead to igniting the region."

    For her part, the German ambassador indicated that "the common goal that her country seeks to achieve with the rest of the world is to stop the escalation in Gaza, stop the fire, and open the way for international humanitarian efforts to save the lives of civilians."
