Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, received the Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Mr. Igor Levitin, and his accompanying delegation.
“During the meeting, discussions centered on bilateral relations between the two countries and strategies to strengthen cooperation across various sectors. They also discussed the agenda for Prime Minister Al-Sudani's upcoming visit to Moscow,” stated the Media Office of the Prime Minister in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
“The Prime Minister highlighted the longstanding and strong ties between Iraq and Russia, expressing the government's commitment to further fortify these relations. He emphasized Iraq's initiation of the Development Road Project along with the Al-Faw Grand Port, a sustainable economic endeavor aligned with the government's strategy of diversifying the economy beyond oil dependence. He underscored the regional significance of this project and it’s potential for integration with other economic corridors,” the statement continued.
For his part, Mr. Levitin conveyed the warm regards of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Prime Minister Al-Sudani. He also extended his congratulations on the occasion of Iraqi National Day, emphasizing Russia's keenness to strengthen cooperation with Iraq across various levels.
