Floods sweep New York, causing confusion and disruption to traffic

The American city of New York was engulfed by massive floods resulting from torrential rains that fell heavily during the last hours, leading to a state of confusion and disruption of traffic.

Numerous pictures and clips spread showing the streets of New York being flooded with rainwater, while vehicle owners tried to control them and cross through the water. Workers from the
New York Department of Environmental Protection made efforts to clear clogged drains after heavy rains, and the remnants of Tropical Storm “Ophelia” are bringing floods across the central Atlantic Ocean. And northeast, on Franklin Roosevelt Avenue in Manhattan near the Williamsburg Bridge.
