MOFA receives copies of the credentials of seven new ambassadors

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, received copies of the credentials of seven new ambassadors to Iraq.

    “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, received on Tuesday, in the Foreign Ministry building in Baghdad, copies of the credentials of seven new ambassadors to Iraq, each of whom are: Ambassador of the Republic of Finland, Anu Saarila. Ambassador of the European Union Mission Thomas Seiler, Ambassador of the State of Qatar Sultan Mubarak Al-Kubaisi, Ambassador of Canada Kathy Bonka, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia Shukri Latif, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Christiane Hohmann, and Ambassador of the State of Palestine Ahmed Mahmoud Al-Ruwaidi," according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The Minister stressed while receiving the ambassadors separately, that "Iraq looks forward to supporting the international community and establishing balanced relations based on common interests, enhancing political, economic and commercial cooperation, as well as overcoming differences through dialogue."

    "There are common global and regional challenges that require joint cooperation and coordination, most notably combating terrorism and cross-border extremism, addressing economic fluctuations and health crises, and confronting severe climate changes," stated Hussein.

    He expressed his wishes to the new ambassadors for success in performing their new duties, and in a way that strengthens relations of friendship and cooperation between Iraq and their countries.

    In turn, the ambassadors expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressing their countries' aspiration to strengthen relations with Iraq in various fields in a way that strengthens common ties.
