Foreign Ministers of Iraq, Jordan and Egypt discuss ways of cooperation in several fields

    The Foreign Ministers of Iraq, Jordan and Egypt discussed ways to activate cooperation between the three countries in several economic and political fields, on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where they agreed on the importance of completing the projects proposed among them, and initiating new ideas and projects in the fields of electrical interconnection, renewable energy, communications, trade, industry, transportation, health, pharmaceutical industries, housing and reconstruction, as well as areas concerned with culture, tourism, youth and sports, as well as areas of Security and Defense cooperation.

    The ministers also discussed the tripartite cooperation mechanism, and follow-up to the results of the last tripartite summit held in Baghdad in June 2021.

    Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry hosted Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Egypt to the United Nations in New York on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

    The Ministers also addressed the situation in the region, where they stressed the importance of achieving security and stability in the region, and touched on many issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause as the central issue, and in the context of the importance of restoring the inalienable Palestinian rights, as well as efforts to find a solution to the Syrian crisis, especially through the efforts of the Arab Contact Group, in order to achieve the interests of the brotherly Syrian people and end their suffering.
     
    The foreign ministers agreed to continue coordination among themselves to prepare for the next trilateral summit to be held in Cairo.
