FM Hussein meet with his Iranian counterpart

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, the political situation in the region.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Tuesday, stated that “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly at its 78th session in New York,” noting that “During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest were discussed."

The Iranian Minister appreciated "the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister to Tehran last Wednesday, which resulted in the consolidation of joint cooperation and reaching the start of implementing the security agreement between the two countries, as the Iraqi government took the initiative, in joint work with the Kurdistan Regional Government, to take the necessary and necessary measures."
