The National Center of Meteorology in Saudi Arabia expected, today, Friday, that the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region will witness heavy rains, torrential rains, and a lack of horizontal visibility during the next few hours.
The National Center of Meteorology in Saudi Arabia issued a red alert for the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region regarding the expected weather conditions during the next few hours.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense stressed, "Exercise caution and the necessity of staying in safe places and staying away from places where floods, water swamps, and valleys accumulate, and not swimming in them, as they are inappropriate places for that and constitute a danger.".
The Directorate called for "adherence to the instructions announced through various media outlets and social networking sites, due to the continued chances of thunderstorm rain in most regions of the Kingdom, starting tomorrow, Saturday, until next Wednesday.".
The center explained, "The Makkah Al-Mukarramah region will be affected by moderate to heavy rains that may lead to torrential rains, hail, and brisk winds that stir up dirt and dust, including the Holy Capital, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, and the regions of Asir, Jazan, and Al-Baha.".
This week, the regions of Medina witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by hailstones, and social media pioneers circulated video clips showing the abundance of rain with hailstones over the seas south of Medina. The National Center of Meteorology also revealed earlier, “Forecasts indicate a higher chance of rainfall.
” From the rate of 50 percent to 60 percent in the regions of Al-Sharqiyah, the Northern Borders, Al-Qassim, Hail, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, Medina, and parts of the Riyadh and Makkah Al-Mukarramah regions.
