Al-Hakim calls for enacting anti-drug laws

    The leader of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim, stressed today, Monday, the necessity of legislating laws that combat drugs and foreign cultures.
     
      Al-Hakim said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We met with the Secretary-General of the International Academy for the Rapprochement of Islamic Schools of Sects, Sheikh Hamid Shahriari, and we exchanged condolences on the painful occasion of the Arba’een anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
    Al-Hakim praised the “high coordination between Iraq and the Islamic Republic in making this visit a success, and in receiving and returning visitors.”
    He stressed, “the necessity of preserving Islamic unity among the Islamic sects, and the role of the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in it,” calling for “them to be the focus of this unity and the basis of its sustainability,” as Sayyid Al-Hakim explained, “the nature of the challenges facing Islamic societies, such as drugs and cultures alien to societies," stressing "the necessity of confronting it by legislating the necessary laws that block the way for its owners, and also by fortifying Muslim youth intellectually and culturally."
    Al-Hakim also stressed "the importance of coordinating positions and communication between the social and religious symbols of Islamic societies," and emphasized "the necessity of this communication in sustaining dialogue between the parties in the region and sustaining stability there."
