Al-Sudani Discusses Public Services and Unveils New Projects for Maysan Governorate

    Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, chaired Today, a meeting with officials of the service departments in Maysan Governorate, in the presence of the Governor of Maysan. 

    The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),"The meeting assessed service conditions across the governorate's districts and sub-districts, identifying key obstacles to project implementation and meeting the local service demands."

    The statement ADDED," The Prime Minister commended the governorate's efforts and its executive departments, highlighting its successful advancement in infrastructure projects. The governorate has outpaced others, achieving impressive sanitation service coverage of 99% to 100% and the visit aims to assess the overall status of the governorate across service, living conditions, economic, and security aspects."



    Al-sudani emphasized," that governorates are a crucial executive arm of the government, requiring alignment and effective operation to utilize allocations in line with government priorities." 

    He announced plans to commission a specialized government team to Maysan Governorate for monitoring the progress of projects initiated during this visit.

    Al-sudani  unveiled new projects for the province from the 2023 federal budget.

     These include two 100-bed hospitals in Al Majer Al Kaber and Ali Al Sharqi districts, a sewage treatment plant in Maysan, and 90 billion dinars in flood compensation for affected residents.

     Additionally, he revealed that this year's budget covers designing a university city project in the governorate. 

    International experts will be commissioned to create these designs. Furthermore, he directed to prepare for the southern ring road project for implementation.

    The Prime Minister instructed that the public bidding for the new shops of the Modern Goldsmiths Market in Maysan Governorate will exclusively be available to goldsmiths from the Mandaean Sabians community,this decision aims to preserve the unique expertise of the profession and curtail the emigration of the members of this esteemed Iraqi community.
