Al-Sudani delivers a speech at the inauguration of Al-Hakim Teaching Hospital in Maysan

    Media Office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency INA that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani delivered a speech at the inauguration of Al-Hakim Teaching Hospital in which he said that it represents a large medical city, a strategic project, and an important addition to the health sector in Maysan.

    He said that we have place completing the stalled projects on the top of our government's priorities, and after concerted efforts, we were able to present this important achievement to the people of Maysan.

    The prime minister confirmed that “we maintain our commitment to the health sector in our government program, recognizing its vital significance for citizens everywhere.”

    He also assured that timely provision of healthcare and treatment services to citizens is essential, without any delays.

    Al-Sudani clarified that “We made strategic plans on several levels, to complete stalled projects according to the Diwani Order Committee 45, and we developed solutions. Numerous stalled projects have been completed in the governorates.”

    He affirmed that technologies are being introduced to hospitals in Iraq and the governorate for the first time.

    In this regard, he said that the three-year federal budget includes a plan to collaboratively operate hospitals through contracts with specialized institutions. The initial phase targets six hospitals across six governorates.

    The prime minister referred that the budget now includes higher medication coverage and a revised allocation for medical supplies, ensuring Ministry of Health needs are met.

    He also clarified that the budget outlines a proposal to build 15 district-level hospitals with 100-bed capacity each in the governorates, including the Maysan hospital in Al-Mejar Al-Kabir.

     Al-Sudani stated that allocations have been approved for specialized health centers focusing on heart diseases, cancer, addiction treatment. Plans include constructing five such centers across Baghdad and the governorates.

    He added that the implementation of the health insurance law will transform the healthcare system sector by enhancing service and care provision.
