The German Embassy denies burning the Holy Quran, confirms the depth of relations with Iraq

    The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Iraq denied the recent circulated rumors about the burning of a copy of the holy Qur’an in Germany.
     
    “The recent rumors about burning the holy Qur’an in Germany are false,” stated the Germany Embassy in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
    “We strongly denounce any kind of religious hatred and intolerance,” the statement added.
     
    "The desecration of the Holy Qur'an is hostile and despicable act," The Embassy affirmed .Noting that "there is a vibrant Muslim community in Germany, and many Iraqis regarded Germany as their home."
     
    The Embassy concluded the statement by stressing that, " Now is the time to stand together and not to be divided, and we are grateful for the excellent relations between Iraq and Germany and look forward to their further strengthening and development."
