Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari discussed on Wednesday, with his Pakistani counterpart, Rana Sanaullah, organizing the entry of visitors and combating drugs.
A statement of the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, received today, his Pakistani counterpart, Rana Sanaullah, at the ministry's headquarters in the presence of a number of agents and leaders of the ministry," noting that " the meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest, foremost of which is coordination and joint cooperation between the two countries."
The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed work to organize the entry of visitors on various occasions, as well as combating drugs, and during this meeting, they also discussed strengthening the bonds of bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields."
Al-Shammari stressed, according to the statement, that "Iraq is striving to develop relations with friendly countries in a way that serves common interests," noting "the importance of benefiting from Pakistani expertise in training."
For his part, the Pakistani minister appreciated "the great efforts made by the Iraqi security services in combating terrorism and organized crime," stressing the "intensification of relations between the two countries and the exchange of experiences, especially in the security field."
