Interior Minister Abdul-Amir Al-Shimmari discussed with his Iranian counterpart the ongoing preparations to secure Arbaeen visit.
A joint meeting held between Al-Shammari, and his Iranian counterpart, Ahmed Wahidi, at Al-Mundhariya port, to discuss the preparations for securing the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and securing the common borders between the two neighboring countries, according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The two ministers made a reconnaissance tour of the Zurbatiya border crossing, as well as the Al-Shayeb and Al-Shalamajah crossings. They were accompanied by a number of commanders and officers, to see the entire preparations for the commemoration of the Arbaeen visit and to know the latest details related to this matter.
They also inspected the security and service work to secure the borders between the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran. "This extensive and comprehensive tour included meetings with officials from the Iraqi and Iranian sides from both neighboring countries as Al-Shimmari and Wahidi also made a number of recommendations that would make the joint work of Arbaeen visit a success and securing the borders to serve the mutual interest," included in the statement.
