The Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshes Committee announced today, Monday, setting two dates to host the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad, to discuss the water and agricultural sector file.

The head of the committee, Faleh Al-Khazali, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshes Committee will host the Turkish ambassador to discuss several matters and coordinate between the two parties," noting that "the committee sent a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to host the Turkish ambassador to discuss the agricultural and water sector."

Al-Khazali added, "Inviting the Turkish ambassador to the parliamentary committee is constitutionally possible, as the House of Representatives is a legislative authority and hosting aims for joint cooperation between Iraq and Turkey," noting that "there are common ties and relations between the two countries, and thus dialogue and direct meeting overcome difficulties and problems."

He explained, "The committee obtained a response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and set two dates to host the Turkish ambassador," pointing out that "the committee is awaiting the ambassador's response on the date to host him in the committee."
