Al-Halbousi and the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister discuss activating parliamentary diplomacy

    Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed today, Sunday, activating parliamentary diplomacy to consolidate cooperation between the two countries.
     
     
    The media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi received, today, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the meeting witnessed a discussion of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and cooperation in all fields, including economy and investment.
     The meeting "discussed activating parliamentary diplomacy and friendship committees and its role in consolidating cooperation between the two countries, as well as coordinating positions in Arab, regional and international forums."
    During the meeting, the Speaker of Parliament confirmed, according to the statement, "the support of the legislative authority in Iraq for the government's efforts to enhance cooperation and resolve outstanding issues with Kuwait, for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples."
    For his part, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister expressed his country's support for Iraq and the desire to consolidate relations and increase the level of cooperation in various fields, conveying the greetings of the Kuwaiti leadership and wishes for stability and prosperity for Iraq.
    He pointed out that "the talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were fruitful and contribute to enhancing prospects for joint work."
