Rashid: On the anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH), we recall with it the meanings of sacrifice and heroism

The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed that the memory of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the pure constellation of his family and his supporters in a kinder incident, with which we restore the meanings of sacrifice and heroism.

The President of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Our people are commemorating during these days the rituals of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein PBUH and the pure constellation of his family and his supporters in a kinder incident on the tenth of Muharram al-Haram.".

He added, "This painful and inspiring memory with which we recall the meanings of sacrifice and heroism, in defending the principles of justice and faith in confronting tyranny, is a memory that provides us with great values ​​and renews in generations the determination and insistence on adhering to those values ​​that were rooted in martyrdom, freedom and human dignity.".

He emphasized: "We recall the memory of heroism on Ashura, so we restore with it pride in the honor of the noble stances, and confirm in our hearts the will to work towards building a just, democratic Iraq, an Iraq in which everyone lives equally, enjoying its bounties and keen on its elevation, honor and sovereignty.".

He concluded by saying: "Peace be upon the lofty souls who were perfumed with martyrdom, peace be upon those who sacrificed for the sake of truth, so that we work and win for the values ​​of justice and dignity by strengthening our national unity to build Iraq and the welfare and security of Iraqis."
