Rashid and Talabani discuss 6 files

    The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pafel Talabani, confirmed today, Wednesday, the government's support in implementing its program, while the preparations for holding the provincial council elections and the Kurdistan Region Parliament elections were discussed.
      The media office of the President of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received, at the Baghdad Palace, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pafel Talabani, and his accompanying delegation."
     
     "During the meeting, they discussed the overall general situation in the country, and the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the need to resolve outstanding issues in accordance with the constitution and the law was emphasized, and serious and constructive dialogue was expressed between the political parties, and efforts aimed at expediting the adoption of a law oil and gas, were strengthened." and there was also talk about the efforts that the Presidency of the Republic is continuing to complete the legislative requirements related to the implementation of Article (140) of the Constitution.
     
    According to the statement "It was also emphasized to support the government in implementing its program in a way that provides the necessary services to citizens and secures a decent life for the Iraqi people with their various components and affiliations."
     
    The statement continued, "The meeting discussed preparations for holding the provincial council elections and the elections for the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region, and the need to provide support to the Independent High Electoral Commission in this regard, in a manner that guarantees fair and transparent elections that meet the Iraqis' desire to choose their representatives."
