World Meteorological Organization gives the international code to the meteorological station at Kirkuk International Airport

    The authority said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "With the follow-up of the permanent representative of Iraq to the World Meteorological Organization and the director of the Meteorological Authority, Abdul-Azim Abdul-Qahar Al-Saadi, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has granted the international code (40624) to the meteorological station at Kirkuk Airport." which has been added to the network of meteorological stations.
     
    The Director of the Meteorology Department said, "This addition represents a quantum leap and a new start towards future prospects for the development of the meteorological sector, especially the continuous follow-up of the Minister of Transport, Professor Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, with the senior management of the General Authority on updates and developments related to the World Meteorological Organization."
     
    The statement added, "This global code represents an added value to the meteorological sector at Iraqi airports due to its high importance in this field, noting that this station works to provide services for aviation and air observations."
    He continued, "The meteorology strives to implement the directives of the senior management in the ministry through openness and communication with international organizations, which would enhance and activate the role of the meteorological sector."
