Al-Amiri , Hamoudi appreciate the role of Iranian support in combating terrorism in the region and Iraq

The head of Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, and the Leader of the Islamic Supreme Council Hammam Hamoudi, , appreciated on Wednesday, the Iranian role towards Iraq and the fight against terrorism in the region.

A statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated, "The head of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi al-Amiri, received in his office in Baghdad, ... Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani and his accompanying delegation."

During the meeting, Al-Amiri touched on "the role of Iranian support in combating terrorism in the region and Iraq, especially the role of the martyr Commander Qassem Soleimani," noting that "the steadfastness of the Iranian people against all foreign conspiracies is one of the most important factors in the success of the Islamic Republic."

The statement  added, "The bilateral relations between the two countries are strong, and we will work to deepen them through diplomatic channels."

For his part, Kani touched on "the importance of Iranian-Iraqi relations, and their role in the stability of the region, and reassuring neighboring countries of the peacefulness of the Iranian nuclear program," explaining that "one of the priorities of Iran's foreign policy is to strengthen relations with the countries of the region."

It continued , "The Islamic Republic has been and still is supportive of Iraq, and it will be so with all its allies and friends."

The leader of the Supreme Council, Hammam Hamoudi, also received in his private office the Undersecretary of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Bagheri, accompanied by the Iranian Ambassador, Muhammad Al Sadeq."

A statement from Hamoudi's office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the two sides discussed the relations of the two countries and ways to develop them according to an advanced vision that keeps pace with the requirements of the times and the changes in the international arena, in a way that enhances common interests and consolidates stability in the region."

During the meeting, the leader of the Supreme Council indicated that "Iraq is currently witnessing stability, and is looking forward to a strong renaissance, especially in light of the existence of a national popular rally around the framework government and the will to make it succeed."
