Rashid stresses the importance strengthening the social fabric

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed today, Friday, the importance of the positive role of the clergy in strengthening the social fabric.

A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, visited the shrine of Sheikh Abd al-Qadir al-Kilani. After that, the President of the Republic performed the ceremony of visiting the shrine of Sheikh Abd al-Qadir al-Kilani, praying to God Almighty to preserve Iraq and bless the Iraqis with more goodness, security and stability.

The statement added, "The President of the Republic did not write a word in the record of visits in Hazrat Al-Kilani, and he also looked at the Qadiriya Library, which includes many Qur'ans, documents, books and precious historical manuscripts," stressing "the need to preserve and pay attention to this great heritage, and encourage religious tourism.".

During his meeting with the Reverend, Hazrat Sheikh Afif Al-Din Al-Kilani and those in charge of it, the President stressed: “The importance of the positive role of clerics in strengthening the social fabric at this stage by adopting moderate discourse, spreading a culture of tolerance and brotherhood, combating extremist ideology, and rejecting violence, hatred and division.”.

In turn, Sheikh Al-Kilani praised "the visit of the President of the Republic to Hazrat Al-Qadriya, which indicates the extent of his interest in religious shrines and holy shrines, and the President's keenness to support the efforts of clerics in strengthening national unity and protecting societal peace."
