The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces PMF Faleh al-Fayyadh, confirmed on Wednesday, that the PMF is a military institution that does not have a political opinion, while pointing out that the PMF receives orders from the commander-in-chief of the armed forces in all his duties.
Al-Fayyadh said, during the annual ceremony on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the founding of the Popular Mobilization, and followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Popular Mobilization was launched with the fatwa of the supreme religious authority," stressing that "the Popular Mobilization and security forces achieved victory."
"The PMF was not defeated in a single battle during the liberation operations," he said, noting that "the PMF defeated the bad situation that prevailed at that time".
"The coming days will be an opportunity to start legalizing the Popular Mobilisation Establishment," he said, stressing that "the PMF will not hesitate to defend the constitution".
"The PMF is a military institution and has an ideological advantage," he said, clarifying that "the PMF has no political opinion".
"The PMF is under the order of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and is subject to the orders of the Joint Operations Command," he said.
