President Rashid: The depth of solid and historical Iraqi-Italian relations

    The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, emphasized the depth of the solid and historical relations between Iraq and Italy, and work to strengthen it, while noting that Iraq has overcome the security crisis and is living in a state of stability.

    Rashid visited on Monday, the Italian Parliament and met at the Montecitorio Palace in Rome, Speaker of the Parliament Lorenzo Fontana, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Migration and Displacement Evan Faiq Jabro, in addition to a number of advisors and officials, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    During the meeting, Rashid emphasized "the depth of the solid and historical relations between Iraq and Italy, and work to strengthen them, in advance of his thanks to the Speaker of Parliament for the security and cultural support for Iraq," noting at the same time, "Iraq has overcome the security crisis and is living in a state of stability."

    The President of the Republic spoke about "the democratic experience in Iraq, which reflected the Iraqis' adherence to their choices and their aspiration to exercise their right through legislative and local elections, the latest of which was the recent elections that resulted in a government that represents Iraqis with all their affiliations and components, as it developed an ambitious program to meet their demands in consolidating security and stability, improving the reality of services and starting projects by encouraging investment opportunities," 

    In turn, "Fontana welcomed the visit of the President of the Republic, which he described as fruitful, stressing his country's keenness to raise the level of bilateral relations and expand the horizons of cooperation in a way that achieves the supreme interests of the two friendly countries and peoples."
