President Rashid Receives Shabak Delegation

    The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, met with the Shabak community's delegation, at the Baghdad Palace.

    The media office of the President of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),"President Rashid affirmed that Iraqi people are equal in rights and duties, and the basic standard of the right man in the right place must be applied, regardless of the backgrounds of the Iraqi people."

    The Shabak community is an essential component of Iraqi society. They stood by the side of the other Iraqi communities in facing the challenges and the process of building the country, the statement  added.

    The President highlighted that it is vital to approve the general budget that would help render better public service for all the Iraqi people, rehabilitate the basic infrastructure and implement vital projects that will positively affect the lives of citizens.


    Regarding the water crisis,
    reserves of water shouldn't be used, except it is necessary. Restoration of Mosul Dam must be maintained regularly while Dam's water should be kept, he added.

    Regarding displacement,
    President Rashid spoke of the challenging situation and rough conditions faced by the displaced people at the camps, and therefore, their issues must be addressed once and for all, they must be allowed to return home when they do so and to do so, optimal conditions, including security and stability must be ensured in their villages, towns, and cities after being rehabilitated.

    The members of the visiting delegation expressed thanks and gratitude for the warm welcome extended by President Rashid and hailed the President's proposals and enthusiasm for supporting civil peace and ensuring the rights of Iraqi people of all backgrounds.

     Additionally, they expressed confidence in President Rashid's tireless efforts to maintain social cohesion and preserve societal diversity in Irain Iraq. They briefed the Shabak community's condition and proposals that help to address the challenges.

    They said that the situation in the Ninevah Plain and another part of Mosul is marked by security and stability, where things are looking up. They added that there is an acute shortage of basic services while expressing hope that will be addressed as soon as possible.
