Minister of Finance Taif Sami, with Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih, discussed openness towards developing partnership with the Kingdom in various sectors.
A statement by the Ministry of Finance, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Minister of Finance Taif Sami met with Saudi Investment Minister Khaled Al-Falih on the sidelines of the meetings of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council at its fifth session held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The statement added, "The two sides discussed joint files in the fields of economy, finance and investment, and openness towards developing partnership with the Kingdom in various sectors. The meeting also discussed the consolidation of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, through the development of mutual cooperation in the field of finance and economy, in addition to discussing the activation of memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries, especially with regard to the banking sector and the full investment opportunities in Iraq and facilitating the entry requirements of Saudi investors."
Sami stressed, "The priority of upgrading the level of relations with Saudi Arabia, raising the level of strategic and investment relations to the highest levels, supporting and strengthening them to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples in various fields."
The statement added: "On the sidelines of the coordination council session, the meeting of the joint business council between the two countries and the Saudi-Iraqi economic forum will be held, in the presence of a number of businessmen in the two countries."
