Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari arrived on Monday in Salah al-Din province.
A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari, undersecretaries of the ministry and a number of directors of departments and directorates arrived today in Salah al-Din province."
"The visit aims to oversee the security reality of the province, follow up on the efforts of the police command and the ministry's directorates, and co-ordinate with the judiciary and local government in everything related to the interior ministry in the province," the statement said.
"The interior minister and his accompanying delegation are scheduled to meet with the governor of Salah al-Din, the president of the Court of Appeal and the local government to discuss a number of issues related to the province," the statement said.
