The Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF announced on Saturday, capturing a drug-trafficking network in Basra Governorate.

A statement by PMF received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The detachments of the General Directorate of Information at Basra Directorate affiliated with the Intelligence and Information Assistant of the Popular Mobilization Forces managed, with a tight ambush, to capture a drug-trafficking network in the center of Basra Governorate."

The statement indicated that "All members of the network were arrested in a tight ambush after obtaining judicial approvals in accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of the Anti-Narcotics Law, and seized in their possession a number of narcotic pills that they intended to distribute within the governorate," noting that "the necessary measures were taken against them in order to receive their just punishment." ".
