Manchester City striker Erling Haaland won the Player of the Year award for the 2022-2023 season from the Football Critics Association in England, on Friday, after scoring 51 goals in 47 matches.
The Norwegian player won 82 percent of the vote, the largest difference in the Premier League era, ahead of Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.
Haaland, 22, dazzled everyone with his abundance of goals in his first season with City, aspiring to win a historic treble.
Haaland became the scorer with the most goals in one season in the history of the English Premier League when he scored his 35th goal against West Ham United earlier this month.
He played a prominent role in coach Pep Guardiola's team leading the league, one point ahead of Arsenal, with four rounds remaining, and City is a postponed match.
Next week, City will host Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in the Spanish capital, and will play the FA Cup final against rivals Manchester United on the third of next June.
Australian Sam Kerr, Chelsea player, won the title of best player from the League, and she will receive the award with Haaland on May 25.
