17 earthquakes hit Syria

The Syrian National Seismological Center announced that 17 earthquakes of low intensity were recorded during the past 24 hours in the north of the country, in Tartous in the west of the country, and Homs.

The center stated that the stations of the national seismic monitoring network recorded until 7:11 am today 9 earthquakes in Iskenderun, ranging in intensity between 1.6 and 2.4 on the Richter scale, and 6 tremors in Turkey, ranging in intensity between 2.0 and 3.0.

The center added: The stations also recorded an earthquake west of Tartous with a distance of 43 km, with an intensity of 2.2 degrees on the Richter scale, in addition to an earthquake west of Homs with a distance of 29 km.
