Deputy Commander of Joint Operations Lieutenant General Qais Khalaf Al-Mohammadawi, confirmed Wednesday, that the current month of Ramadan is the best in security in 18 years, revealing the reinforcement of the northern Baghdad districts with two new security support brigades.
Al- Mohammedawi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the districts of northern Baghdad was strengthened by two new brigades to enhance security, as the areas were searched," pointing out that "the proactive operation carried out, comes to check the information."
He added, "The northern province of Baghdad is witnessing during the current month qualitative operations in which various security and intelligence levels participated," noting that "work is continuing to pursue terrorist groups and we hope to provide support from citizens in these areas; as they represent the heart of the capital and are characterized by a complex geographical nature, which helps terrorists disappear."
He also noted "We have seen a great development in the qualitative security file and intelligence work," pointing out that "the current month of Ramadan is the best in security over the past 18 years and the security forces have come a long way in pursuing ISIS terrorist gangs in the areas north of Baghdad and all governorates."
