The head of the Judicial Council, Faeq Zaidan, met today, Thursday, with the French Minister of Justice, Eric Dupont Moretti, while he visited the National Assembly and discussed with its deputy president, Valerie Rabo, joint cooperation.
The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zidan, met today with the French Minister of Justice, Eric Dupont Moretti," noting that "the two sides discussed ways of cooperation between the two countries in the judicial and legal jurisdiction.".
He added, "The meeting came within the framework of the visit of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, at the head of a high-level judicial delegation, to the French capital, Paris.".
The council added, "Zidan also visited the French National Assembly, and met with the vice-president of the assembly, Valerie Rabo," noting that, "cooperation between Iraq and France in various fields, in particular the legislation of laws, was discussed.".
The statement stated, "Zidan viewed the Museum of the National Assembly, which included historical books containing the history of Iraq in its various cities."
