PM Media Office: Municipalities for the new cities have been formed

‏The Media Office of the Prime Minister announced on Thursday ,that the Municipalities for the new cities have been formed.
 
 
‏PM Media Office mentioned in a statemeat , received by the Iraqi news agency(INA), that " Following the directives of the Prime Minister, Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, municipalities have been formed for the new cities in line with the government program to address the housing problem, and according to Cabinet Resolution No. (23052 of January 25, 2023), which stipulated governorates' coordination with the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities, and Public Works in building new cities. The file has been submitted to the Council of Ministers to complete the approval procedures and build the necessary infrastructure”.
 
‏"Ali Al-Wardi Municipality was established in Baghdad Governorate, Al-Salam Municipality in Al-Najaf Governorate, Al-Mutanabi Municipality in Wasit Governorate, and the New Diwaniyah Municipality in Al-Diwaniyah Governorate", the statement added.
 
 
 
‏"The procedures for completing the transfer of land ownership from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture to the new municipalities are underway to save effort and streamline the process according to the directives of the Prime Minister, as specialized committees have been formed in each governorate to follow up on the procedures for land preparation and to initiate urban planning and building of infrastructure", the statement continued.
 
 
 
‏it’s to be mentioned that ,on November 8, 2022, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of building new cities with well-developed infrastructure according to a well-defined economic model and clear commitments between the government and the citizens, not just distributing plots of land that lack services and produce malformed cities.
