Al-Awadi: The government calls on the political forces and the parliament presidency to intensify their efforts to resolve the budget

    government spokesman Basem Al-Awadi called on Sunday, on the Presidency of Parliament and political forces to intensify their efforts to resolve the budget, while indicating that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani renews his willingness to attend the Parliament  and answer all details and inquiries regarding the draft budget.


    Al-Awadi mentioned in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),"As the Council of Representatives start discussing the Federal Budget Bill, which our beloved people are eagerly looking forward to, for it is the engine for the service and investment projects, the government renews its trust in the representatives of the people and the Presidency of the Council of Representatives and their sound judgment of the circumstances that our country is going through and considering the urgent need expedite approving the federal budget to place it on the path of implementation, so that the government can meet of its priorities, as soon as possible."



     The honorable Council of Representatives is quite aware of the grand strategic development projects in the Federal Budget Bill. 

    Therefore, the government calls upon the Representatives, the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, and the political forces to step up their efforts and approve the bill that directly impacts Iraqi citizens' needs. 

    The government is fully convinced of the foundations on which the federal budget bill is established; therefore, it is necessary to draw the attention of the Members of the Council of Representatives to the importance of keeping the federal budget as it is, meaning keeping it for three years. 

    The government can only continue its program with the three years budget, which provides flexibility in funding strategic projects linked to crucial public service infrastructure. 

    It is no secret to the representatives of the people that some vital programs and projects depend on the federal budget, including electricity projects, water scarcity treatments projects, and contracted workers, in addition to providing thousands of job opportunities with new development projects and other important steps that will achieve tangible economic quantum leap. It should also be noted that the federal budget has developed proper solutions to address deficit and disbursement mechanisms.

    In this regard, the Prime Minister renews his readiness to attend the Council of Representatives session to comment on all the details and answer all inquiries submitted by the members of the Council of Representatives regarding the federal budget bill.
