Iraqi National Security Service(INSS) announced on Monday, the arrest of a pharmacist working in drug trafficking in Basra.
INSS stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the detachments of INSS managed to arrest a pharmacist in Basra Governorate after he traded in narcotic pills by mixing them with prohibited drugs and creating narcotic mixtures and syrups in large quantities."
The statement added, "This was based on intelligence information and obtaining judicial approvals, as a result of which an elaborate ambush was set up, which led to his arrest in flagrante delicto," noting that "a pistol, large quantities of narcotic pills, and various prohibited drugs were seized in his possession."
"The accused, along with the seized items, will be referred to the competent judicial authorities to receive his punishment in accordance with the law,"It stressed.
