Popular Mobilization Forces announced Thursday launching a security operation in three villages in Salah al-Din Governorate.
A statement by PMF, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "a joint force from the Ninth Brigade affiliated with the Kirkuk and East Tigris Operations Command in the Popular Mobilization Forces, carried out, in conjunction with the Samarra Operations Command and a force from the Federal Police, a security operation in the villages of Matibja, Al-Rada and Al-Marat in Salah al-Din Governorate."
The statement added, "The operation comes within the framework of the security plan for the blessed month of Ramadan, which aims to secure the decisive responsibility from any danger that may target citizens during the days of the holy month, as well as an inspection from several axes to pursue the remnants of the criminal ISIS in the province."
