Al-Sudani confirms keenness to participate with Mandaean in their Day

    INA-  BAGHDAD

    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani affirmed Thursday his keenness to participate with the Mandaean community in their celebrations of the (Eid of Creation), indicating his pride in and care for the Iraqi components.

     A statement by the media office of the Prime Minister, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani participated in the celebrations of our people from the Sabean Mandaean sect of (the Feast of Creation), and attended a ceremony that was held on the occasion, in the presence of the head of the sect in Iraq and the scholar Sattar Jabbar Hillo, and the representative of the Sabian bloc, Osama Al-Badri and senior figures of the sect, and a group of its sons.

    It added, "Al-Sudani offered congratulations and blessings to all Mandaean Iraqis, and conducted a tour of the baptismal land on the Tigris River, where religious rituals were held.

     The Prime Minister indicated, "his keenness to participate with the people of the Mandaean community on their feast, to confirm his care for it, stand up for its needs, and support its presence in the prosperous Iraqi society with its pluralism and its various economic, cultural and social elites."

      He stressed, "His pride in the Iraqi components, and the government's keenness to take care of them, as it has translated this in its executive program into projects and programs that will contribute to the consolidation of diversity, which we consider a source of pride for Iraq and a source of strength and prosperity."
