Oil Minister inaugurates the Samawa gas project

    Ministry of Oil announced Thursday the opening of the Samawah gas project, while noting that the project adopts modern technology and means of protection.

     A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, "Under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, the Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber Ismail, inaugurated the Samawah gas project in Al-Muthanna Governorate."

     Ismail said, in his speech during the ceremony, that "the Samawah gas project is one of the latest projects that adopt modern technology and means of protection, and aims to provide a large part of the consumer need and storage energy for liquid gas for the governorate."

     Ismail referred to "the ministry's keenness to improve the services provided to citizens, and work to modernize oil and gas facilities," noting that "the next stage will witness the implementation of many promising projects."

     For his part, the General Manager of the Gas Filling and Services Company, Ali Hussein, said that "The project activity includes receiving operations, distillation, storage and loading, and the production capacity of the factories amounts to (13,000) cylinders per day."
