Iraqi Airways discussed on Wednesday, with the European Aviation Safety Agency removing the ban.
"The company's general manager, Karim Kadhim Hussein, headed the company's delegation in an expanded meeting held in Dubai, UAE, with the participation of a delegation from the European Aviation Safety Agency - EASA and a delegation from the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority," according to a statement by the media office of the Iraqi Airways Company received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
During the meeting, they discussed the procedures followed by Iraqi Airways to remove the European ban on the green bird, as the statement indicated that “the Director General of the Iraqi Airways Company confirmed that the Iraqi Airways Administration, via the continuous follow-up of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, has made important strides in completing its procedures, which include compliance with all requirements of local and international aviation authorities, especially the requirements of EASA, in order to lead to lifting the ban on its flights on the continent of Europe."
The statement pointed out, "This meeting is one of a series of meetings in which the management of the national carrier participated to clarify the extent to which it had passed the requirements that must be resolved in order for EASA to reconsider the flight ban imposed on Iraqi Airways."
