Al-Sudani: The government is keen to provide safe housing for teachers and their families

    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani affirmed today, Wednesday, that the reconstructing school buildings will contribute to reducing the burden on the educational staff, while indicating that the government is keen to provide safe housing for teachers and their families.

     The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani greeted, this morning, the educational family, on the occasion of Teacher's Day, which falls on the first of March, during the celebration held by the Iraqi Teachers Syndicate,” appreciating the "high message of the teacher and his efforts to enhance the educational aspect, being a fundamental pillar in building generations that contribute to building the future of Iraq."



     


     Al-Sudani addressed the teachers by saying: "I stand among you today, congratulating and celebrating the teachers on their day, which falls on the first of March of each year, and recalling the lofty message and noble goals of the teacher," noting that "we have devoted a wide area of ​​attention to the teacher and the education sector in our government program ." 

     He stated that "the prog included the formation of a specialized national team supported by international expertise to raise the efficiency of education," explaining that "the program included direct supervision of the implementation of the National Strategy for Education (2022-2031), including the development of curricula, and the diversity of teaching methods."

    He stressed that "the government program was concerned with raising the capabilities of educational bodies, and removing administrative tasks from quotas and partisanship, depending on competence and good management," pointing out that "the government adopted the advancement of the reality of schools, and considering addressing their problems as a national project that falls on the responsibility of the public sector, and supporting the private sector to implement school buildings.

     He pointed out that "reconstruction of school buildings will contribute to reducing the burden on the educational staff, to end double shifts, and push students to attend their schools," noting that "we will remain indebted to the teacher, and the government will spare no effort in providing everything that preserves the teacher's dignity."

     He continued, "The government is keen to provide safe housing for teachers and their families, which is an entitlement and not a favor or an honor," explaining that "the government resolved in its early days the issue of free lecturers, whose number reaches 300,000, to enrich the educational process with young abilities ."

     He indicated that "Iraq was exposed to waves of distortions due to the wars that caused a breach in the social fabric, the spread of hate speech, and the spread of corruption," pointing out that "tackling these distortions is not only through legal punishment, but rather by including in school curricula the values ​​of citizenship, peaceful coexistence, equality and human rights.”

     He stressed, "After a decade, we will have a generation that acquires the skills of peaceful coexistence, renounces hatred, and enjoys the values ​​of patriotism, and this is the responsibility of teachers."
