A 5.5 earthquake hits Turkey

    The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center announced that it had recorded an earthquake that struck central Turkey.

    The center stated, in a statement, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the earthquake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale."

    The center added that it "did not even know the extent of the damage caused by this earthquake."
