Al-Halbousi meet with the President of the Egyptian Senate in Cairo

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi stressed On Sunday, the need for Syria to return to its Arab surroundings.

The media office of the Speaker of Parliament said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi met today Sunday, with the Egyptian Senate Speaker Abdel Wahhab Abdel Razzaq in Cairo, during his visit to participate in the Fifth Conference of the Arab Parliament and the heads of councils and parliaments Arabic."

The statement added, "The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and strengthening means of cooperation in all fields, as well as tripartite cooperation between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan to achieve economic integration," noting that the importance of uniting Arab efforts to face challenges was discussed."

Al-Halbousi stressed "the necessity for there to be a clear Arab role, and for the leadership and the Arab countries, including Egypt, to adopt at all levels the return of Syria to its Arab surroundings."

For his part, the President of the Egyptian Senate indicated that "his country supports cooperation and partnership between the two countries, and everything that contributes to achieving political and economic stability in Iraq," praising "what he has reached now after years of various challenges."
