Iraqi parliamentary delegation headed by Al-Mandalawi arrives in Damascus

    Iraqi parliamentary delegation headed by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, arrived Today, Friday, in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
     
    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "A parliamentary delegation headed by Al-Mandalawi arrived at Damascus International Airport, and was received by the Deputy Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly, Akram Al-Ajlani, and members of the Iraqi-Syrian Friendship Committee." 
     
    The statement added, "This one-day visit comes in solidarity with the Syrian people to overcome their ordeal as a result of the catastrophe of the recent devastating earthquake that hit a number of Syrian cities, and caused great losses in lives and infrastructure."
    Al-Mandalawi stressed, according to the statement, that "This visit to the neighboring Syria is to announce our stand and the stand of our Iraqi people with our Syrian brothers and to provide assistance and support and everything that could help to overcome this painful ordeal," noting that "the delegation will be briefed, during the meetings that it will hold, on the latest developments and the needs that can be met to support the rescue teams.
