The Ministries of Interior and Defense on Sunday, discussed receiving the security file in a number of city centers.
The ministry said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, received, in his office, the Minister of Defense, Thabet Muhammad Saeed Al-Abbasi, and at the beginning of the meeting, the minister welcomed his guest and discussed with him a number of issues of common interest, foremost of which is the security situation in the country."
The statement added, "The Ministry of Interior discussed receiving the security file in a number of city centers, and ongoing preparations for the success of the security services' work in this regard."
It explained "the two sides discussed coordination and cooperation between the security sectors in city centers and outside them, and intensified efforts to combat terrorism and crime in all its forms, and to provide services to citizens."
