MOFA: PM's visit to France changed the bilateral relationship to a multi-interest strategic horizon

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, today, Friday, that the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad S Al-Sudani to France activated the bilateral relationship to a strategic horizon with multiple interests, while it showed that soft power diplomacy is the path and vision that Iraq is moving forward.

    The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The visit of Prime Minister Muhammad S. Al-Sudani to Paris is of great importance, especially as it transferred the bilateral relationship to a strategic horizon with multiple interests," noting that "soft power diplomacy is our path and our vision, We have sources of strength that qualify us to move forward with Iraq's partners and friends.".

    He pointed out that "Iraqi diplomacy works with multiple arms to enhance Iraq's openness to its regional and international surroundings, and we are working with great diligence to achieve a national response that is consistent with the requirements of the current stage," stressing that "recovering Iraqi funds and property, and working to increase Iraq's partnerships by signing memorandums of understanding in various sectors.".
    He continued, "Multiple strategic partnerships and diversification of national investment portals is what Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirms.".

    Yesterday, the Prime Minister signed, with French President Emmanuel Macron, the strategic partnership agreement between Baghdad and Paris.

    Al-Sudani said in a tweet on his Twitter account: "The strategic partnership agreement sets a map to expand the horizons of cooperation between our two countries, in various fields."
    He added, "We will continue to work with friends for serious partnerships that guarantee Iraq achieving economic reform and sustainable development, as we drew and planned in the government program.".

    Today, Friday, Iraq and France signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of combating corruption, within the framework of the official visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to France.
